Arkham Asylum- Home for the criminally insane situated in the Narrows of Gotham City.

Axis Chemicals- Chemical plant on the outskirts of Gotham City where Jack Napier transformed into the Joker. Axis was destroyed by the Batmobile at the end of Batman.

B

Batarang- Much like a boomarang, though used for grappling, climbing andknocking out enamies.

Batboat- Last seen in Batman Forever, the Batboat was used by Robin (while Batman used the Batwing) the Batboat was destroyed by the Riddler

Bat-Cave- Based under Wayne Manor, This large cave became the Bat-Cave (or originally the Bats-Cave) the Bat-Cave is used for experiments and analysis.

Bat Girl- Last seen in Batman & Robin played by Alicia Silverstone, she was Alfreds neice rather than James Gordons Daughter. Bat Girl is a sidekick to Batman.

Bathammer- Much like the Batmobile but in sled form, travels on ice. As seen in Batman & Robin.

Bane- An experiment by Jason Woodrue a formaly thin murderer was pumped with Venom to become Super Solider Bane. (Played by Jeep Swenson)

Batman(1989)- First film in the Batman series, starred Micheal Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker. It was directed by Tim Burton and is currently the biggest earning Batman Film.

Batman- Dark vigilante who protects Gotham City From the Villians that Roam it. Batman isthe alias of Bruce Wayne who swore to avenge his parents murders at the hands of joe chill. portrayed on film by Lewis Wilson, Adam West, Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale & Kevin Conroy. (Voice only)

Batman Begins(2005)- a reinvention of the franchise (not a remake or prequel as its often said) with Christian Bale as Batman, Liam Neeson as Ducard, Micheal Caine as Alfred Pennyworth and Morgan Freeman as Lucious Fox. It was directed by Christopher Nolan and is currently the second biggest Batman film.

Batman Forever(1995)- third of the series starred Val Kilmer as Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Robin, Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face and Jim Carrey as Edward Nygma, it was directed by Joel Schumacher and is currently the third highest grossing Batman film.

Batmobile- Vehicle of choice for Batman. Travels at high speed through Gotham.

Batman Returns(1992)- Second of the series, and fourth highest grossing of all Batman Films, Micheal keaton returned as Batman, while Danny Devito Played The Penguin and Michelle Pheiffer played Catwoman. it was Directed By Tim Burton and is the fourth highest grossing Batman film.

Batman & Robin(1997) last of the past series of Batman films (before the reinvention with Batman Begins) With George Clooney as Batman, Chris O'Donnell as Robin, Arnold scwarzenegger as Mr Freeze, Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy and Alicia Silverstone as Bat-Girl. It was Directed by Joel Schumacher and was considered a flop by Warner'safter it failed commercially and critically. it is the fifth and lowest earner of the Batman Films

Bat-Sub- After the Batwing Break's Apart in Batman Forever, the main part becomes an under water sub.

Bat-Ski-Boat- Seen in Batman Returns, This Vehicle has alot in common with the Bat-Wing, Used for stealth attacks, the Bat-Ski-Boat is fast but also thin enough to fit in a sewer for underground attacks.

Bat-Wing- A Plane, Generally shaped like a bat, to get to places faster across Gotham. seen in Batman and Batman Forever.

Bob (Robert) The Goon- The joker and Jack Napiers right hand man in Batman, Bob dies when the Joker Kills him. Bob was played by Tracey Walter.

Burton, Doctor- Seen at the end of Batman Forever and in the beginning (deleted scene) Doctor Burton is one of the head psychtrists at Arkham, he was named after Tim Burton and was played by rene aboujouns

Burton, Tim- Director of Batman and Batman Returns.

Catwoman- After being awoken by cats, Selina Kyle becomes Catwoman, a leather clad kyle,prowls the streets, neither good nor bad, she seems to electrocute herself at the end of Batman Returns. until we see her rear up. Played by Michelle Pheiffer

Chill, Joe- Crook who murdered Bruce Wayne's parents (Thomas & Martha) Chill was killed by one of Carmaine Falcones people after Chill agreed to testify against Falcone. Played by Richard Brake.

Cobblepot, Oswald- Birth name of The Penguin, Oswaldsets out to find his real name after tireing of being called 'Penguin' he finds his names on a list at the hall of records. Played in Batman Returns By Danny DeVito

Crane, Jonathan- The man under the mask of scarecrow, Crane was a Doctor at Arkham Asylum until he was dismissed, Played by Cillian Murphy

D

Dawson, Rachel- Love interest and childhood freind of Bruce. Dawson is an assistant D.A. (District Attorny) Dawson was played by Katie Holmes.

Dent, Harvey- Assistant D.A. of Gotham City freinds with Commisoner Gordon, dent was Scared by crime boss Moroni making him Two-Face, Dent has been played on screen by Billy Dee Williams (Batman) & Tommy Lee Jones (Batman Forever)

Diego, Antonio- Former weak murderer pumped with Venom to become Bane. Portrayed by Micheal Reid MacKay

Ducard, Henri - Leader of the league of shadows, Trained Bruce Wayne in the hope that Wayne Would Take Down Gotham City, Played By Liam Neeson

Earle, Richard- Head of Operations at Wayne Enterprises, until he is taken over by Lucius Fox. Earle was played by Rutger Hauer.

Eckhart, LT- Bent cop featured in Batman 1989, played by William Hootkins.

Eddie- First we see to encounter Batman on a roof top with his freind Nic, Portrayed by George Roth.

F

Faden (Judge)- Bent Judge at Gothan Courthouse. Faden is on Falcones Payroll and is responsible for freeing Joe Chill and his Shooting, Played by Gerard Murphy.

Falcone, Carmaine- Crime Boss of Gotham City, Shareda cell with Joe Chill, Captured by Batman and drugged by Crane. seen in Batman Begins played by Tom Wilkinson

Finger,Bill- some times credited as co-creator of Batman.

Flass (Detective)- Crooked cop on Falcones payroll. Portrayed by Mark Boone Junior.

Flying Graysons, The- Family of Acrobats Featured in Batman Forever, Killed by Two-Face leaving only Dick Grayson Alive.

Fox, Lucius- Current head of wayne enterprises. played by Morgan Freeman.

Freezemobile- Mr Freeze's vehicle of choice, seen in Batman & Robin.

Freeze, Mr- tragic scientist who must live in sub zero conditions. after falling into chemicals while looking for a cure for his wife nora fries. Fries became freeze and would stop at nothing to find a cure. Played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Frosty- Lead henchman to Mr Freeze. seen in Batman & Robin

Fries, Nora- (Pronounced Nora Freeze) Wife of victor fries, nora was left in suspended animation until her husband cab find a cure for her. Portrayed by Vendela Kirsebom Thomessen

Fries, Victor- (Pronounced Victor Freeze) Husband to Nora, Fries fell in chemicals while looking for a cure for his wife. now known as Mr Freeze. Played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

G

GCPD- Gotham City Police Department is currently led by Commisoner Loeb. many of the police are crooked. GCPD will soon be led by James Gordon.

Gordon, James- Future Commisoner of Gotham. Gordon is one of Batmans only freinds at GCPD. gordon was played by Pat Hingle and is currently played by Gary Oldman.

Gossip Gerty- Gossip Columist from the Gotham Globe seen in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin Portrayed by Bob Kane's real wife Elizabeth Sanders.

Gothan City- Place of Batman's missions & operations.

Gotham Globe- Most Famous Newspaper in Gotham two of its reporters are Alexander Knox and Vicki Vale.

Grayson, Dick(Richard)- Youngest member and only living member of 'The Flying Graysons' after they were killed (on film) by Two-Face after Two-face had a hunch Batmas alter ego was in the circus audience. Grayson was played by Chris O'Donnell.

Grissom, Alicia-Girlfreind or wife to Carl Grissom, Cheating on him with Jack Napier Portrayed by Jerry Hall.

Grissom, Carl- Crime Boss of Gotham City and boss of Jack Napier, also largely responsible for Napier falling into the chemical's (due to Napier having an affair with Grissoms with Alicia) Grisson was Killed by the Joker, Played by Jack Palance.

Hiraldo- Max Shrecks Cat.

Ice Princess- Mascot and local Celebrity of Gotham City. The ice princess is killed by the Penguin in Batman Returns, after the Penguin gets one of Batmans Batarangs, using it to frame Batman for her murder. Portrayed by Cristi Conaway.

Isley, Pamela- Played By Uma Thurman in Batman & Robin, Isley is a Botanist and Conservationist,

Joker, The- Also known as The Clown Prince of Crime. the Joker is possibly Batmans deadliest foe and most famous. The Joker highly resembles a His namesake in a pack of cards, hence where he got his name. The Joker was the Red Hood or in film terms most recently in Batman as the alias of Gangster Jack Napier. The joker was also portrayed in the 1960's TV show by Ceasar Romero. He will next be played by heath ledger in 2008's The Dark Knight. the Joker was played by Mark Hamill in the animated series.

K

Kane,Bob- Creator of Batman, taking inspiration from a Da Vinci drawing and Zorro. Kane died in 1997 shortly after the release of Batman & Robin. he asked people who attended his funeral not to buy him flowers, but to donate the money to childrens charities. Kane has said his favorite actor to portray Batman was Val Kilmer who played him in Batman Forever.

Knox, Alexander-Played by Robert Wuhl in Batman. Knox is the only reporter to believe that the Batman exists. He meets like minded Reporter Vicki Vale.

Kyle, Selina- Mild Mannered Seretary to Max Shreck. Kyle was pushed out of a window by Shreck, awoken by Cats she became Catwoman. Portrayed by Michelle Pheiffer.

League of Shadows- group of ninja's led by Ducard/Ra's Al Ghul, with the belief of making Gothan and the world a better place.

Loeb (Commisoner)- Current Commisoner of Gotham (Batman Begins)

Madison, Julie- Love interest to Bruce Wayne from Batman & Robin she was played by elle Macpherson.

Meridian, Chase- Psychologist who helps Bruce lose some of his demonsthat are haunting him. Meridian Fallsin love Batman, she then Realises she actually loves his alter ego (without knowing there the same person) Bruce Wayne. Meridian Appeared in Batman Forever and was played by Nicole Kidman.

Moroni-Crime Boss of Gotham City, Shown breifly in Batman Forever throwing acid on Harvey Dent. Portrayed by Dennis Paladino

Ms. B. Haven- Mr Freezes Right hand woman, Haven has a crush on Freeze this however is one sided. Portrayed by Vivica A. Fox

Napier, Jack- Portrayed by Jack Nicholson in Batman (and a play on the word jack a' napes and a reference to Alan Napier who played Alfred in the 1960's TV show) Jack falls into a vat of chemical waste at the Axis Chemical factory, after a struggle with Batman, he re-amerges as The Joker.

Nic- Rooftop thug, first we see to encounter Batman portrayed by Christopher Fairbank.

Nolan, Christopher- Director Of Batman Begins, the Re-invention of the Batman Franchise.

Nygma, Edward- Former Wayne Enterprises Employee Nygma, seeks revenge on Wayne after he rejects his 'mind manipulation device' Nygma later becomes The Riddler. Nygma was portrayed by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever.

Panther suit- Name given by the Batman Forever Production to the Bat-suit worn by Val Kilmer as it looked like a panther.

Pennyworth, Alfred- Butler to Bruce Wayne as well as his parents Martha and Thomas. Alfred is much like a father figure to bruce, raising him since the death of his parents. Alfred has been played by Alan Napier and Micheal Gough Currently by micheal Caine.

Poison Ivy- Played By Uma Thurman in Batman & Robin, Ivy is Botanist and Conservationist Pamela Isley, Ivy's lips are filled with a toxin named venom, one kiss is deadly.

Ra's Al Ghul- The true identity of Ra's Al Ghul was Henri Ducard (using Ducard as a front) Ghul is the leader of the league of shadows. Ghul was played by Liam Neeson.

Red Triangle Circus Gang- Travelling circus of Criminals that found and raised Oswald Cobblepot (The Penguin) its members include, the Sword Swallower, The Poodle Lady and The organ Grinder.

Riddler, The- Said to suffer from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) The Riddler cannot commit a crime without first leaving a riddle for Batman. The Riddler famously sports a bright green leotard covered in black Question marks. The Riddler has been played by Frank Gorshin (1960's tv series) and was most recently portrayed by Jim Carrey in Batman Forever.

Robin-Sidekick and 'Boy-Wonder'. Robin is Batmas sidekick in Batman Forever & Batman & Robin, he was played by Chris O'Donnell.

Schreck, Chip- First born (and only) son to Max Shreck. Portrayed by Andrew Bryianski.

Shreck, Max- Founder of Shreck Department stores (in early drafts of the Batman Returns script it would be revealed that Screck was Oswald Cobblepots younger brother) Shreck was responsible for pushing Selina Kyle out a window (and setting in motion her transformation into Catwoman) Shreck was portrayed by Christopher Walken.

Schumacher, Joel- Director of Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

Smylex- Toxin placed in many brands of hygene products by the Joker in Batman. Smylex only works however when certain productsare mixed, giving the user a permanent fixed smile and killing them.

Snowy Cones- Dis-Used Ice Cream factory/warehouse and now hideout of Mr. Freeze.

Spice- Two-Face's Girlfreind showing his dark side (Originally to be called Leather) Portrayed by Debi Mazar

Sugar- Two-Face's Girlfreind showing his good side (Originally to be called Lace) Portrayed by Drew Barrymore.

Stickley, Fred- One of the heads of Wayne Enterprises, he and edward Nygma do not get on leading to Nygma killing stickley (by pushing him out of a high rise window, making it look like suicide complete with suicide letter faked by Nygma) Stickley was played by Ed Begley Jr

Turkish Baths- Poison Ivy and Bane's Hideout (Batman & Robin)

Ubu- Right hand man to Ra's Al Ghul. Ubu is the Fake Ra's killed when a beam falls on him in a fight with Bruce Wayne. Appeared in Batman Begins played by Ken Wattanabe.

Utility Belt- Belt of many items, holds grapple gun (at back) gas pellets etc.

V

Vale, Vicky- Reporter, Arrives in Gotham City From the Corto Maltese to find the mysterious Batman. Works with Alexander Knox, Played by Kim Basinger.

Venom- Created by Jason Woodrue and responsible for making weak murderer Antonio Diego into Bane.

W

Wayne, Bruce- Watched as a boy his parents killed in an aley after watching the mark of Zorro/Opera. wayne grows up determined to rid Gotham of its scum, he becomes Batman.

Wayne Enterprises- Company set up by Bruce's ancestors, Wayne Enterprises manufactures many items. it is currently ran by Lucius Fox.

Wayne Manor- Home of the Wayne family for more than 4 generations, Wayne Manor was destroyed at the end of Batman Begins by Ra's Al Ghul and the league of shadows.

Wayne, Martha- Mother of Bruce, Wife of Thomas, gunned down outside theatre with Thomas, leaving only Bruce. Martha wasa known campaigner for many charities

Wayne, Thomas- Bruce's father, gunned down with his wife by Joe Chill (or Jack Napier in the 1989-1997 series of films) Thomas isa Doctor at Gotham General Hospital.

Woodrue, Jason- Doctor and scientist in charge of jungle experiment in outer mongolia. Woodrue is resposible (on film) for creating (super-solider) Bane. Woodrue was played by John Glover.

Z

Zaaz, Victor-Inmate at Arkham Asylum, known for every kill hedoes, marking his own body. portrayed in Batman begins by 'James' Frontman
